Baia dos Golfinhos is one of Pipa's most special phenomena — one of the few places in Brazil where you can watch spinner dolphins in the wild for free, without paying anything or needing a boat.

The Secret Is the Tide

The ideal time to see the dolphins is at low tide, usually in the morning. When the sea recedes, the dolphins approach the sandbar that forms at the bay entrance to feed. From the viewpoint above, you can see them swimming just meters away — a sight that moves even the most seasoned traveler.

To find out the exact low tide time for your day, check tide tables online or ask at the hostel reception — we update this information daily for guests.

Important tip

Arrive at the viewpoint at least 30 minutes before low tide. When the tide is coming in, the dolphins move further away and are harder to see clearly.

How to See Them for Free — the Viewpoint

The Baia dos Golfinhos viewpoint is free to access and about 900 meters from No Worries Hostel — around 12 minutes walking along the seafront. From the top you have a privileged view of the entire bay and the dolphins swimming freely. Bring water and sunscreen.

Boat Tours — a Different Experience

Local agencies offer boat tours of the bay (around R$80–120 per person) departing from Praia do Centro. Ask at the hostel reception which agencies we recommend — responsible operators who respect safe distance rules for the animals.
